The 9 Best Hotels with Baby Creches

Why should you be left holding the baby when it’s your holiday too? Here are our hotel picks that offer childcare for your little bundles of treasure.

Isn’t it ironic that the people most likely to be in dire need of a holiday can find the whole experience exhausting?

Who are we talking about? New parents, of course.

Taking a holiday as a parent with young babies and toddlers in tow can be a huge challenge.

Juggling the needs and routines of little ones in an unfamiliar environment while also managing to to have some much needed ‘me time’ is a tough and tricky ask for parents.

This is where the availability of quality childcare and creche facilities becomes essential while on holiday. Having a safe place to leave your little treasures knowing they’re safe, happy and well cared for, could potentially be the highlight of their holiday.

Although kids’ club are the norm in most hotels, they tend to cater to children from about four years old and up. But what about the babes in arms and the tiny tots? The options for this age group are far more limited.

However, before you throw your toys out of your pram, give us a call.

At Not Just Travel we hear your cries and we’re jumping up and down ready to help. As a starter, here’s a handful of hotels that are very happy to mind the baby while you have a well-deserved break.

1. Kamari Beach Resort, Rhodes

Mark Warner has become synonymous with active family holidays and this gem of a hotel joined the group’s portfolio in 2022.

Poised on a sweeping Blue Flag beach in the village of Lardos on the Greek island of Rhodes, the hotel’s purpose-built creche is the perfect place for parents to leave their babies from just four months old in the safe hands of the team of nannies.

You’ve got all the kit here in this air-conditioned centre, from interactive toys to sun shaded buggies, cozy cots and a kitchen ideal for warming up milk and baby food.

Mark Warner operates a strict ratio of one nanny to two babies and also adopts a keyworker system, ensuring your child has the same nanny throughout your stay. Let the nanny know your baby’s routine and she’ll endeavour to stick to it as much as she can. She’ll even keep a diary for you.

Once babies reach the one-year-old milestone they graduate to the Toddler Club where they have their very own brightly painted room full of stimulating toys and games, plus a dedicated toddler pool.

Come the evening, if you want to have dinner alone, the nannies are still on hand until 10.30pm.

With such reliable childcare, parents can take their pick at the array of sporting activities at Kamari Beach. Sailing, cycling, no end of fitness classes, tennis, water sports and, new to the resort, padel.

Amongst the hotel’s 109 rooms are those specifically for families. These come with room divides, furnished balconies or terraces and are located close to the pool or childcare centre. Interconnecting rooms are also available.

2. Opio en Provence, France

Club Med is another name that rolls off the tongue when thinking of family holidays.

Book the Club Med Baby Welcome Kit in advance and you’ll have all the kit and caboodle awaiting you in your room on arrival. From a changing table and bath tub to bottle warmers and sterilisers, use of a blender, microwave and even the loan of a pushchair this all comes at no additional cost.

The Baby Club Meb creche at Opio en Provence welcomes babies from just four months to 23 months old. It’s the perfect haven for your precious treasure while you head out on the hotel’s nine-hole golf course or relax in the spa.

A team of G.Os (Gentle Organisers) are on hand to take your little ones on walks around the hotel’s olive groves, play with the sensory toys and tend to their every need providing a loving and stimulating environment.

There are no end of activities on offer here, from padel and tennis, to pool yoga and fitness classes.

3. Beaches Turks and Caicos

With its own waterpark, an impressive choice of 21 restaurants, not to mention 10 swimming pools and an exclusive partnership with the colourful gang from Sesame Street, no wonder this all-inclusive Caribbean resort is a top choice for families.

Even newborns get the all-inclusive VIP treatment here. In fact, these youngest guests are in incredibly safe hands.

Only nannies who are members of the International Nanny Association, America's oldest and largest in-home child care association, can work in a Beaches kids’ club. To become accredited, each nanny must meet the minimum requirement of 2,000 hours of childcare services. Additionally, they are all fully trained in safety, nutrition and child development.

Babies are cared for in the climate-controlled nursery filled with comfy cots, pushchairs, high chairs, rocking chairs and everything your little one could ever need.

While the complimentary baby club is open from 9am to 9pm, you can also tap into private care should you wish.

And for those babies and toddlers who may have special needs, you can request a One-on-One Beaches Buddy to be with your child for your entire stay or just for a few hours, including during Kids Camp hours and after hours in a sensory-friendly location of your choice.

4. Ikos Dassia, Corfu

Step into a bubble of pure luxury on the glorious Greek island of Corfu. Ikos has elevated the all-inclusive concept – think Michelin-starred menus, 24-hour room service, branded spirits and over 300 local and international wines.

The attention to detail is on another level and that goes to looking after babies too.

Pram rental, phone rental (with a direct line to the nannies), baby bath tubs and freshly prepared baby food are all on the menu.

The Heroes Creche at Ikos Dassia in Corfu, and across the Ikos collection of hotels, welcomes little ones from six months to four years old. All the children’s activities and clubs are run by qualified staff in line with UK Ofsted standards.

This particular resort is one of the finest hotels in Corfu with a long and wide 600m sandy beach on its doorstep. The staff will even take care of your toddlers on the sands while you take a dip.

And come the evening, Ikos Dassia’s private babysitting service is available upon request.

5. Sani Beach, Halidiki

Pack light when you travel to this luxurious five-star Greek resort. All the baby essentials are provided, from bottle sterilisers to pushchairs.

However, the guys at this Sani Resort will be reaching out to help new parents prepare for their holiday even before they’ve left. Complimentary advice is on tap from childcare expert Carol Mae’s Baby Consulting service. She’ll hand out tips and tricks on how to travel with babies and create a personalised guide on how to adapt your family to a new environment.

And once you’re there, the babies can dive into the menus conjured up by renowned children’s food expert, Annabel Karmel.

The hotel’s creche is the reserve of babies from six months old to four years and is run by nannies meeting the strict standards expected by UK Ofsted.

The staff to children ratio is 1:3 for children from 6 months to 23 months and 1:4 for children between the ages of two and four years.

However, if you want your baby to have one-to-one attention then private nannies are on hand and every evening babysitters are waiting in the wings should you want to go out to dinner or to enjoy the resort’s entertainment.

This is the perfect spot to relax – especially when there’s waiter service on the beach!

6. Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, Portugal

Think luxury and you’re well on your way to envisaging a stay at this five-star haven.

Check into one of the 146 suites and rooms especially for families, all of which come with fantastic touches like Nespresso machines – a must for tired parents.

You’ll have five restaurants to choose from; five pools including one dedicated to families and kids’ clubs, including one for little adventurers from four months to four years old. What’s more, formula milk, nappies, high chairs, car seats, strollers, bottle sterilisers and bottle warmers are available from the concierge.

This frees parents up to enjoy all the facilities, including world-class golf, a sumptuous spa and tennis courts.

7. Atlantica Marmari Beach, Kos

This place is great for laidback family breaks, thanks to its secluded spot beside a private beach. We particularly like the thoughtful touch of a boardwalk that crosses the sand making it so much easier to get a pushchair down to the waterfront.

It comes with four restaurants and three pools. While the main pool has a couple of slides, the hotel also has a dedicated baby paddling pool that is partially shaded.

There is a Baby Club crèche for babies from newborns to three-year olds and a Baby Lounge where you can meet other parents and feed and change your baby during the day.

8. Melia Cala Galdana Hotel, Menorca

This hotel is in a jaw-dropping location directly on the white sands of Cala Galdana beach – one of the prettiest spots on the island of Menorca.

Among the 340-plus rooms are a number of family rooms sleeping up to five people, in addition to a baby in a cot. When travelling with children, your room is filled with handy extras, including bathroom goodies, a set of kids towels, booster cushion and a first night treat of chocolate milk and cookies.

Babies as young as eight months old can enrol in Seeds, the name of the mini kids club.

This Melia hotel also has two outdoor swimming pools and a shady children’s playground.

9. Hard Rock, Tenerife

This hotel claims to offer the most jam-packed and fun children's activity programme in the whole of Tenerife, with an exclusive entertainment offering designed especially for the little (big) stars in the house.

While the kiddies from four years old enjoy a host of themed days, fun games and awesome singing and dancing workshops laid on by the Hard Roxity Kids Club, tiny tots from six months to three years old check into Club Lullaby.

With four outdoor pools, including a mini waterpark, five restaurants and an entertainment programme befitting the Hard Rock reputation, this is a fun choice for young parents.
